Platinum jubilee crown for ANR Hyderabad: He started his acting career way back in 1941. Alongside N T Rama Rao, he has been considered as the one of the pioneers of the Telugu film industry, who took Tollywood to a completely different level.
Popularly called as ANR, Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao has worked in several genres of films in his 70-year acting career, including mythological, social, and drama films.
He is the recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the highest award for films in India, and also the Padmashri, Padmabhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards.
With an aim to celebrate his contribution to Tollywood, T Subbarami Reddy Lalithakala Parishat in association with Committee of Hosts of Telugu Film Industry will be celebrating platinum jubilee acting career celebrations of Dada Saheb Phalke Awardee and Padma Vubhushan Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao on April 9 at the Shilpakala Vedika, at 4:30 pm.
Prominent personalities of the Telugu Film industry including D Rama Naidu, chairman, Committee of Hosts Telugu Film Industry, convenor M Murali Mohan, yesteryear actor Jamuna Ramana Rao and many other senior actors will be a part of the felicitation committee for the event.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will be the chief guest of the event and Jayanthi Natarajan, union minister of state for environment and forests will be honouring ANR. Dr Chiranjeevi, Dr T Subbarami Reddy, M Mohan Babu, RV Ramana Murth, along with Tollywood actors including Ram Charan Tej, Rana Daggubati, Naga Chaitanya, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja, Prabhas, Prakash Raj, Mahesh Babu, Kaajal Aggarwal, Tamanna, Nithya Menon, Nayatara, Suhasini, Anushka Shetty will be present at the event.
Prominent dancers of the city will perform a dance ballet titled 'Mahanatudu Akkineni', written by MK Ram and the music has been scored by Saluri Vasu Rao.
