Anushka not doing 'Dirty Picture' Hyderabad: The 'Arundhati' star has refuted media reports that she is reprising the role of 'Reshma' in its Southern remake.
Anushka Shetty has categorically denied reports that she has agreed to play the lead role in the Tamil and Telugu bilingual version of the Bollywood blockbuster 'The Dirty Picture'.
The film, which starred Vidya Balan in the title role of Kollywood's former 'item girl' Silk Smitha and was directed by Milan Luthria, and won the actress her first ever national award for 'best actress'.
According to Anushka's media manager, the actress is currently starring in three Tamil films including Alex Pandian opposite Karthi, Vijay's Thaandavam opposite Vikram and Selvaraghavan's Irandam Ulagam opposite Aarya.
As on date, there are no plans for her to do Vidya Balan's role in Tamil or Telugu; she wasn't approached with this proposal by any film maker, it was further informed.
Anushka might soon be out of the country as she has her shooting schedules set in exotic locales abroad.
While 'Thaandavam' takes her to the United States, Selvaa's 'Irandam Ulagam' would require her to travel all the way to Brazil.
Anushka is happy to have landed up offers to work in films made by directors like Vijay and Selvaa, who are considered the best in the business at present.
As far as her Tollywood films are concerned, she now awaits the release of 'Damarukam' opposite Nagarjuna. Anushka's character in the film is said to be a complex one and is as powerful as the role she played in the highly successful 'Arundhathi' a few years back.
