Best Debut Director Raj Madiraju Hyderabad: Director Raj Madiraju, who forayed into showbiz with critically acclaimed movie 'Rushi', has bagged the Best Debut Director at Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival held at Noida.
The fest began in 2011 to mark the birth anniversary of Dada Saheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema. 'Rushi' is the only Telugu film to contend at the fest.
The movie, starring Aravind Krishna and Supriya in the lead roles, is a comeback movie for noted production house Prasad Productions.
It deals with the life of a doctor who donates his own organs to save a young boy's life. The movie, produced by Ramesh Prasad, got laurels from critics and film fraternity though it failed at the marquee.
