Top producers' legacy not shining Tollywood has seen many top heros sons, relatives, daughters making
their tollywood debut and emerging successful.
However, this was not the case with respect to sons of top producers or directors who aspire to be the flag bearers to their dads. Sons of star heroes have their dads fan following which acts as cushion against any reverses they may face.
But this was not the case for those who wan't to make it big in other departments.
Director is always regarded as the captain of the ship but even when a mega block buster is eked out the entire credit goes to the hero himself though he happen to be a debutant.
Tollywood has many legendary directors and producers from the likes of Nagi Reddy-Chakrapani to Movie Moghul Ramanaidu.
Some producers sons entered the fray but couldn't taste much success. Infact sons or daughters of Aswini Dutt, KS.Ramarao, Mohan Babu, Kodanda Rami Reddy burnt their hands.
While D.Ramanaidu has made more than 140 films his son D.Suresh Babu is treading slowly. One can notice lot of difference in the way of thinking between Ramanaidu and Suresh Babu.
Suresh Babu choses films as per market and is playing a safe game. Though he tasted some success that do not come anywhere near Ramanaidu's stature.
Aswini Dutt is renowned for lavish films but his daughter Priyanka's debut with 'Om Shanti' failed miserably and though 'Banam' won critics acclaim, it did not mint money. Presently she is busy making TV shows.
Mohan Babu has 50 films to his credit and scored some stellar successes. However his son's 'Vastadu Na Raju' on 24 frames banner bombed miserably but his daughter Manchu Lakshmi tasted success with 'Jhummandi Nadam'.
Presently she has 'Gundello Godari' and 'Ukodatara Uliki Padatara'. Even from Nandamuri Family some entered into film making but Ramakrishna couldn't see any big hits.
Though Kalyanram saw some big hits like 'Atanokkade' and 'Hareram' all those profits were wiped out with his later disasters.
Even Vaibhav, son of Kodandarami Reddy faced the same situation. KS.Ramarao's son Alexander Vallabha's scene is no different with 'Dammu'.
LV.Prasad's son Ramesh Prasad, Nagireddy Viswanatha Reddy teamed together to do 'Bhairava Dweepam'and 'Brindavanam' but tasted flop in the form of 'Krishna Pandaveeyam'.
Superstar Krishna's son Mahesh Babu too tasted flops with 'Arjun' and 'Nani'.
Even his daughter Manjula's story is no different. Though many budding producers are taking care on technicalities their ignorance of basic things are depriving them of success.
It is true that their dads saw success light only after string of flops but now one film decide their fate and there won't be any second chance.
They had directors like Dasari Narayana Rao and Raghavendra Rao's strong support with terrific stories but present set of directors only believe in trend.
This is resulting in indecisiveness from the side of present set of film makers.
