Upasna performs pooja at Domakonda Fort Domakonda Fort, the 400 year old structure has come alive once again as the families of Actor turned MP Chiranjeevi and Apollo group Chairman Pratap C Reddy came here to perform Pocham festival on Tuesday. Pochamma festival is celebrated for the well being of bride who is about to get marry.
The families of Pratap C Reddy visit this place every year to perform Mahadeva festival, the festival of Lord Shiva.
The age old tradition is that family members of the bride organise Pochamma festival followed by dinner to the local villagers. Upasna's father Anil Kumar is heir of the Zamindari family that owns the Fort.
In tune with the tradition, Upasna, who is engaged to Chiranjeevi's son and actor Ram Charan Tej, came along with a huge contingent of her family members.
The entire Domakonda Fort area which is situated near Kamareddy town was transformed into a mega film setting as a battery of artists, set makers toiled for the last one month to erect a huge set in the Fort.
When Chiranjeevi, his family members accompanied by Upasna, Ram Charan Tej and about 300 guests came to the venue, they were given a traditional welcome with dances, Kolatam and procession of Bonalu.
The family members of Chiranjeevi and Pratap C Reddy performed poojas at the Mahadeva Temple and Upasna carried a special bonum into the temple.
Chiru personally drove the golf car in which Ram Charan Tej and Upasna were taken around the Fort.
Upasna is regarded as the heir prince of Domakonda Fort as it belongs to her forefathers. Upasna's father Anilkumar is the heir apparent of the Fort and he is also President of the State Archery Association.
The locals were a bit disappointed as they though either engagement or marriage of Upasna and Ram Charan Tel would take place here. But contrary to the expectations of the people here, both the families have decided to organise Pochamma festival here.
