Sridevi is back with `English Vinglish` After almost 14 years, Sridevi is returning to the big screen with R Balki`s `English Vinglish`, a trilingual being made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Sridevi's diehard fans can catch the trailer of the film on Friday with 'Eega' prints. The diva has chosen to play the role of a housewife, struggling with the language.
Says director Gauri Shinde, who is the better half of R Balki known for films like 'Cheeni Kum' and 'Paa,' 'I started directing even before Balki started.
I have been directing for years now. I was an ad filmmaker. But feature (film) was something new for me. Of course, I would take tips from Balki for direction when it comes to feature films.'
This is Shinde's first film and surprisingly she managed to rope in Sridevi, who bid adieu to movies post 1997 hit family drama 'Judaai', and stayed away from big screen for 15 years.
When asked what the trick was, Gauri said: "I believe it was the script that convinced Sridevi to do the film."
It also features French actor Mehdi Nebbou and Priya Anand of 'Leader' fame, while actor Amitabh Bachchan will make a guest appearance in it. The film will release on September 21 worldwide.
