Rajamouli to produce Andala Rakshasi Ace director Rajamouli has turned a producer. The director who shares a close equation with producer Sai Korrapati after having worked with him in 'Eega' was immensely impressed with the story and treatment of 'Andala Rakshasi' promting him to buy a share in the film. He will now act as a co-producer of the film.
Starring Naveen Chandra, Rahul Ravindran and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead roles, 'Andala Rakshasi'is a triangular love story is set in 1992. Its striking trailers and melodious songs are already making the right noises.
'I'm ecstatic that my name as a producer will appear on the screen for the first time.
The film is bound to give my money back since the subject is pretty strong,' said Rajamouli at the press meet conducted to reveal the release of the film on Thursday. It is set to hit the marquee on August 10.
Rajamouli's attachment with the film comes after producer Dil Raju recently shelled out a huge sum for the distribution rights of the film.
He is releasing the film through AP on his Sri Venkateshwara Creations. Said Dil Raju, 'Sometime back producer Sai invited me to watch the film and I was bowled by the subject and the way director Hanu went about the film.
Although the film boasts of newcomers, no scene in the film made me to wonder whether these people are first timers'.
The story revolving around three youngsters Surya, Gowtham and Midhuna is about falling in love, forgetting and waiting for love.
The force of love neither brings them closer nor drags them apart, but the three revolve around each other like the celestial bodies sun, moon and earth.
Directed by debutant Hanu Raghavapudi, a prot'g' of Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, the film's sound track is composed by Radhan, former associate of AR Rahman.
The film has been awarded U/A without any cuts by the censors on Wednesday.
The promotions of the film that is made on Vaarahi Chalana Chitram has been put on hold because of 'Eega', however, with Rajamouli's name now attached to it, no wonder it will be heard across all sections.
With Puri Jagannadh's 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu and Shekar kammula's 'Life Is Beautiful' too in fray this Independence Day, 'Andala Rakshasi' needs some word of the mouth talk for it to have an undisputed run at the box-office.
