Tammareddy panel wins Film Chamber polls Ending weeks of speculation, the APFCC (Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce) on Sunday witnessed anxious moments as it recorded historic results in its election for office bearers.
Producer-Director Tammareddy Bharadwaja's panel backed by veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao thrashed Active Producers Panel led by Sravanthi Ravikishore supported by D Suresh Babu.
Here's the list of new office bearers of the APFCC: Tammareddy Bharadwaja as president; Nagineedu as vice-president; K Ashok Kumar as secretary, Jeevitha Rajasekhar as joint secretary and Vijayender Reddy as treasurer.
Tammareddy panel won 11 seats out of contested 12. The only person who won the election from Active Producers Panel is K Ashok Kumar while the only member who lost from Tammareddy panel is K Jagadeeswara Reddy.
The only woman to win as executive member is Jeevita Rajasekhar who earlier stated that she was a victim of 'male chauvinism.'
The winners of Tammareddy panel include actor Vijaya Chandar, Prasanna Kumar, Directors Association president Sagar, producers Natti Kumar, Chadalawada Srinivasa Rao, CN Rao, Mohan Goud, P Malliaha, K Jagadeeswara Reddy, Yalamanchi Ravichand, Jyoti Prasad and others.
Tammareddy Bharadwaja stood first by securing 472 votes while Prasanna Kumar got 461. Director Sagar, actress Jeevita stood in third and fourth places respectively.
Noted producer Dil Raju got record number of low votes (194) which took everyone by surprise. Producer Natti Kumar was elected as Producer sector president.
The Active Producers Panel consisting of bigwigs like C Kalyan, Sravanthi Ravikishore, DVV Danayya, Nallamalapu Bujji, Damodar Prasad, B Venugopal, V Mohan, Suresh Kondeti and others were vanquished in this election. The panel is backed by Allu Aravind, Suresh Babu and Shyam Prasad Reddy.
Soon after the results were announced, APFCC witnessed a drama as ace producer D Suresh Babu tried his best to hinder his 'b'te noir' Tammareddy Bharadwaja occupying the post and negotiated with the elected EC members so that his relative and Active Producers Panel only elected member K Ashok Kumar could be president for APFCC. But he failed in the attempt. However, the whole chapter ended with mutual compromises.
