Nandi Awards for 2011 were announced yesterday by Minister DK.Aruna and Jury of eminent persons. Sri Rama Rajyam, Dookudu and Rajanna took home Nandis with them and here are the expressions of the winners.
N.Sankar who won the Best Director for the film 'Jai Bolo Telangana', said 'I am happy that even Govt recognized my efforts. The film Jai Bolo Telangana moved not only commoners but also educated lot.
It highlighted the fact that few investors for their vested interests are driving a wedge between people. I got recognition earlier also but I am more happy with this Nandi.
This Nandi is dedicated to telangana people and telangana warriors who lost their lives. I thank the jury for understanding the creativity and feelings of telangana people'
Prince Mahesh Babu who won the Best Actor for his mind blowing performance in Dookudu said 'I am extremely happy to win prestigious Nandi Award. I thank the film makers of 'Dookudu' for the achievement.
I laugh heartily even now whenever I watch Dookudu. The film is such a terrific entertainer. I congratulate all Nandi winners on the occasion.'
Nayanatara, winner of Best Actress for 'Sri Rama Rajyam' said 'I am really happy. Sri Rama Rajyam is a very special film in my career. Now with Nandi garlanding me it will be even more special.
I never expected awards when I acted in the film but only concentrated on proving the faith of Babu and Balakrishna for showing confidence in me. I am honored to get Goddess Seetha role and am lucky in a way. I tried my best to do justice for the role. Bapu and Balakrishna's confidence bought me the Nandi'.
Other winners also shared their happiness thanking the jury and said it is recognition for their efforts. They promised to live up to the expectations in future.
