Cameraman caught in fresh row The Directors Association has directed Danayya to pay `45 lakh by Wednesday as service charge after he settled differences over Puri's remuneration in closed door talks.
In case he fails to do so, his production with Ram Charan, 'Naayak,' will be affected as Employees Federation plans to extend no support to the film
In the news for wrong reasons of late, Pawan Kalyan-starrer 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu' (CGR), is at it again.
After director Puri Jagannadh buried the hatchet with producer Danayya who withheld his remuneration of `4.5 crore recently, the Director's Association was hardly pleased with the way things shaped up.
In a General Body Meeting (GBM) conducted by the association on Sunday, they concluded that Danayya will have to pay them 10% (`45 lakh) of service charge as compensation.
'Director's Association which received a complaint from director Puri Jagannadh forwarded it to AP Film Employees Federation.
It then went to producer's council before going to Film Chamber. Since the chamber works independent of Employees Federation, they rejected the complaint.
At the same time as Producer's council and Director's Association have an understanding agreement over cost control measures, they decided to take an initiative with which they are bound to get a service charge over the non-payment issues from the producer,' said a source who is closely associated with the chamber.
The source added, 'Puri got his amount because of the complaint that was forwarded to various sections. GBM after heavy consultations slapped ` 45 lakh as service charge.
If the producer fails to return the money by Wednesday, Federation Employees will extend non-cooperation to Danayya's future films. His productions will get hampered big-time if such situation arises.'
The amount will be shared between AP Film Federation Employees and Director's Association. However, the film's October 18 release will not be affected, confirmed the source. With or without controversy, 'CGR' is getting the much-needed publicity for sure.
