Why 'Rebel' turned expensive Recently Producers of the film Rebel and director Raghava Lawrence went at loggerheads, approaching respective associations alleging voilation of respective agreements during the making of Prabhas, Tamanna starrer 'Rebel'.
The contention of their dispute according to producers Pulla Rao and Bhagavan that Lawrence increased the film's budget from Rs 22.5 crs to Rs 45 crs. Lawrence alleges that they did not give him the promised remake rights for the film in Hindi.
Producer Natti Kumar speaking on the issue said film makers gave Rs.3 Crs remuneration to Tamanna but film budget increased with Lawrence spending expensively. He said Lawrence suggested Tamanna to film makers after Anushka walked out of the film's cast due to unknown reasons.
Sources say Tammu already committed herself to Mahesh-Sukumar film but as Lawrence insisted on Tamanna, film makers promised to pay her 3 crs.
Natti said Lawrence did these kind of antics and even threatened film makers to leave the film in the middle if they don't spend as he wished.
