On court's directions, the Malkajgiri police registered a case under Sections 120B, 153A, 295A and 298 against film producer Mohan Babu, director Nageshwar Reddy, lead actor Vishnu and comedian Brahmanandam.
Brahmin organisations in their pleas stated that the movie has shown the Brahmin community in poor light. Several Brahmin organisations have been demanding that the government impose a ban on the movie.
On Monday, the Joint Action Committee of Brahmin organisations also met Home Minister P Sabitha Inidra Reddy in this regard. They requested her to stop the screening of the film in theatres across the State.
The Committee members have threatened to launch statewide protests if the government fails to take any action.
The film which hit the screens some time back plunged into huge controversy over some scenes that hurt the sentiments of Brahmins.
The situation precipitated when Brahmins who were protesting in front of Mohan Babu's house were attacked brutally.
Brahmins complained against them in Malkajgiri Police Station and even approached Human Rights Commission.
