Ram Charan to act in Khaidi remake It's almost confirmed. Ram Charan is likely to reprise his father's role in the much anticipated remake of 'Khaidi'. Talk doing the rounds in tinsel town is that producer Tandra Ramesh of Jayabalaji Real Media, who bagged the remake rights of the film, has approached Ram Charan for the film and Charan apparently gave the nod. Though Mahesh Babu's name was heard at first, Charan is keen to do this project.
The 'Magadheera' star, who has been busy for a while in remixing of his dad's yesteryear chartbusters and grooving to those tunes, is all set to be seen in a full-fledged role that earlier essayed by Chiranjeevi.
Charan sizzled in the remixes like 'Bangaru Kodi Petta'' in 'Magadheera', 'Vana Vana'' in 'Racha', and 'Subhaleka Raasukunna'' in his up next film 'Nayak'.
'Khaidi', a 1983 blockbuster film starring Chiru, Madhavi and Sumalatha in the lead roles, was directed by Kodanda Rami Reddy. It had helped Chiranjeevi shape up his career and turn him into a star.
The film, which was loosely based on Sylvester Stallone's 'First Blood', played a pivotal role in the image makeover of Chiru which turned his image from an actor to a star.
Also the songs, which were composed by Chakravarthy, had played a crucial role in the success of this film. It has racy numbers like 'Idemitabbaa'', 'Gorinta Poochindi Gorinka Kosam', especially 'Ragulutondi Mogali Poda'' was a chartbuster.
The talk is that Harish Shankar, who has been basking in glory of 'Gabbar Singh', will wield the megaphone for this film. An official confirmation is awaited. Also, the heroines and music director are yet to be finalised.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan is busy with Bollywood debut 'Zanjeer', VV Vinayak's 'Nayak' and Vamsi Paidipalli's 'Yevadu'. He might start this film, only after completing 'Nayak' and 'Yevadu'. Also Harish Shankar is currently working on NTR's film. So, let's wait for the remake of 'Khaidi'.
