'Seethamma Vakitlo'' Sankranthi Venkatesh-starrer 'Shadow', initially planned as a Sankranthi
release, has stepped away to make space for 'SVSC'. Either way, it seems to be advantage Venky
The much awaited 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' (SVSC) with superstars Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu in the lead may not make it to box office on December 21, according to the buzz in the industry.
However, giving a clear hint that 'SVSC' might not make on the original date as promised by producer Dil Raju earlier, director Meher Ramesh, who is presently occupied with Venkatesh 'Shadow', revealed on Twitter that his flick is making way for the first big multi-starrer of Tollywood.
"In spite of completing all the major work SHADOW is not releasing for Sankranti >>>>>> preference given to SVSC release (sic),' tweeted Meher.
'Shadow', a slick story of mafia don played by Venky is almost done. The unit recently wrapped up a gruelling Malaysian schedule where Meher shot high-octane action scenes shot on his lead star and Rahul Dev.
Coming back to 'SVSC', the film which had its muhurat last year was initially planned for a Dasara release, but thanks to the delay due to actress Samantha's mysterious illness, the dates of other actors had to be reshuffled causing the schedules to go haywire.
While Raju was hell bent on not pushing it further, grapevine has it that he is keen to cash in on the festive season of Sankranthi by pitting Venky's and Mahesh's huge fan following.
Other interesting fact is that both the actors had to fight during Sankranthi this year with their respective films- 'Businessman' and 'Bodyguard'.
While both turned out to be profitable ventures, they joining forces will give an undue advantage to Raju considering that Ram Charan-starrer 'Naayak' and Prabhas-starrer 'Mirchi' too are set to hit the screens during the sametime on a big scale.
Added to it, Raju being a Nizam distributor, the main hub of the business, he probably called the shots. Mahesh is also known to have a hit release during the festive time- remember his dad referred to as Sankranthi hero.
Films 'Murari' and 'Okkadu' are examples of Mahesh's sentiment with the famous Telugu festival.
'Shadow' making way to 'SVSC' as a goodwill gesture leaves us with one question? When will we see 'Shadow'?'
