Chiru's film no longer in his hands He has ruled Telugu film industry for nearly two decades and is recognised as one of the biggest stars of south India.
After foraying into politics, Chiru, as he's fondly called by his fans, has put his film life aside for an active role as a politician.
Having sworn in as a Union Minister of State for Tourism recently, the actor-turned-politician has visited the famous Film Nagar temple in Hyderabad with his wife Surekha on Friday and offered prayers.
MAA (Movie Artists Association) President Murali Mohan and producer BV Rajendra Prasad, who is deeply involved with the functioning of the temple, welcomed Mr and Mrs Chiranjeevi.
Talking about his association with the temple, 'I was keen to visit the temple after taking charge as the Minister, but couldn't due to time constraints.
I have a fond affection for the temple as I had a role in its construction. I feel at home whenever I visit it,' said Chiru.
When asked whether he will reach the landmark figure of completing 150 films? He said, 'It rests with the high command.
With the duties that I have to discharge I'm not sure about my 150th film. However, even if there's an ample scope and with the nod from my high command I will do a message-oriented film which will appeal to the people and my party,' added Chiru. The response must bring a smile to his diehard fans all over.
