Vishnu files case against 'trespassers' Hyderabad: Actor Manchu Vishnu on Thursday filed a private case against 16 persons in connection with the controversy doing rounds over his latest film 'Denikaina Ready'. The court posted next hearing on the case to December 7.
The actor appeared before the III additional chief metropolitan magistrate court and gave his statement narrating the turn of events related to the controversy.
Vishnu told the court that the movie was released only after securing Censor Board certification and was well received by the audiences. However, some people kicked up a controversy alleging that some objectionable scenes were present in the movie, he told the court.
'While we, my father Mohan Babu and I, were on our way to Sullurpeta in Nellore district to visit a temple; we got a phone call from our house manager that some people were protesting in front of our house and trying to barge inside.
I rushed back to my house and saw about 30 to 40 people trying to gatecrash into my house, where my mother was alone and terrified.
The protestors caused damage to the fittings and furnishings,' Vishnu said in his statement. He also said about 16 protestors headed by one Sudhakara Sarma conducted 'pinda pradanam' (a Hindu ritual conducted for the departed) for his father, though he was alive, hurting the sentiments of the family.
Vishnu said the attackers resorted to trespass, damage and threatening apart from hurting the sentiments of the family and sought action.
When Vishnu came out of the court to leave the premises, members of Brahmin associations staged a protest and surrounded his vehicle.
They demanded that the objectionable scenes be removed from the film and warned of staging protests till objectionable content was removed.
Police personnel posted at the court premises pacified the protestors and allowed Vishnu to leave the place.
