Vishnu adopts ten villages Tirupati: Actor Vishnu Manchu, son of actor Mohan Babu, adopted ten villages around his native village Rangampet, 20 km from Tirupati.
He toured a few villages and enquired about the basic amenities like roads, infrastructure, toilets, schools, healthcare centres, drinking water facility and power supply.
When he found they lacked the facilities, he announced his decision to develop these villages at his own cost.
Speaking to media persons in Rangampet, he said that many of the backward villages in the area are struggling due to lack of basic amenities and that he intends to develop these on par with other villages.
Mamidimanugadda, Bhimavaram, Chinna Ramapuram, Parituragavaripalle, A.Rangampet, Bandarlapalle, Kuchuvaripalle, Kottala, Pullaiahgaripalle, Naravaripalle (native village of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu), Kankulavaripalle, Seshapuram and Kongaravaripalle are the villages he has adopted. Building schools and healthcare centres will be his primary focus.
Laying of roads, construction of toilets and community hall will be his next priority, he added. He said he has not set any specific deadline for fulfilling his promise or estimated the cost he would incur. 'Thankfully, there are no financial constraints currently,' he stressed.
