Tamannaah on high While she might have caused a flutter in Telugu industry with Sekhar Kammula's 'Happy Days' five years ago, actress Tamannaah Bhatia was seen shifting attention to Tamil cinema immediately.
Though she was seen here and there in Tollywood, it was Tamil cinema that made the actress an overnight star. After having worked with stars like Vijay, Suriya and Karthi, she decided to pack bags to Hyderabad and for nearly two years the actress was just concentrating on Telugu cinema with back to back crazy projects like '100 % Love', 'Badrinath', 'Racha', 'Endhukante Premanta', 'Rebel' and 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu'.
Amidst her jam-packed schedule in Tollywood, some Tamil producers were in beeline to cast her for their projects, but she chose not to do making her to receive flak from media and from TN filmi circles. While some said that she turned arrogant and forgot the industry that gave her maximum recognition, others felt that she would no longer be a part of K-town.
However, breaking the jinx, Tamannaah, it appears, is keen on shutting the critics. She has reportedly, after much delay, given her nod for Tamil superstar Ajith's next with director Siva of 'Shouryam' fame.
The actress who charges nearly Rs 1 crore per movie has replaced Anushka Shetty to romance Ajith in the action-entertainer. Anushka's dates played a spoiler for her, making her give way to Tamannaah.
Well, this is not the first time that Tamannaah will be stepping into Anushka's long boots. She earlier replaced the 'Arundhati' star in Raghava Lawrence's 'Rebel'. She was paid a bomb for her participation in the film. Tamannaah's last Tamil release was 2011 film 'Venghai' with Dhanush. It failed to set the cash registers ringing.
Meanwhile, the actress has no big Telugu flicks up next except for the Telugu remake of Tamil hit 'Vettai'. She is paired opposite Naga Chaitanya in the flick which is being produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. She is expected to join the shoot of the second schedule in Visakapatnam.
It begins on December 10. On the Bollywood front, the actress besides cast opposite Ajay Devgn in Sajid Khan's 'Himmatwala,' is also being considered for 'Heropanti', Tiger Shroff's launch pad.
