Prince to romance with Sonakshi Sonakshi is keen on her south debut with superstar Mahesh Babu. She is tipped to romance Tollywood's heartthrob for director Krish's magnum opus 'Shivam'. She is the reigning queen of Bollywood. She is tagged as the Rs 100 crore lass as her last film too, 'Son Of Sardar', like her erstwhile ventures 'Dabangg' and 'Rowdy Rathore', have recorded more than Rs 100 crore mark at the B-town box-office. Yes, we are talking about the poster girl for the curvaceous Indian beauty Sonakshi Sinha.
Daughter of yesteryear star Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi, who expressed her desire to do a film opposite superstar Mahesh Babu when she paid a visit to Hyderabad last year, going by the reports, is tipped to romance the 'Dookudu' star up next for his project 'Shivam' with new-age director Krish aka Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi.
Known for handling social themes sensitively, the maker has reportedly approached Sonakshi for the female lead in the Telugu-Tamil bilingual 'Shivam' which will be made on a whopping budget of Rs 60 crore. She is said to have given an oral consent, but is yet to sign on the dotted line. It will only take place after she adjusts her dairy of 2013.
However, sources close to the project hint that Krish is not in a mood to divulge anything about the heroine and the film in particular as he wants complete attention to 'Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum' right now.
He wants everything to be made public by producer Aswini Dutt who'll be producing 'Shivam' on Vyjayanti Movies. At the same time, sources also hint that Aswini Dutt has a reputation of going big with whatever he does and it will be the same with 'Shivam' too this time around.
Moreover, the project will be Mahesh's K-town debut and everything will be done accordingly to suit his popularity cutting across south India and to elevate his stardom to a new level.
One of the top-most producers of Tollywood, he is out of touch with his last few projects, 'Shakti' and 'Kanthri', failing to strike gold at the box-office and he is keen to prove a point, adds sources.
If everything goes well, then Sonakshi will be paid a never before amount for a heroine who'll plunge into south cinema. Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra reportedly charged more for their current south projects, 'Vikramasimha' and 'Zanjeer', than what they did for their regular Hindi flicks and Sonakshi will follow the suit.
Sinha was to do Kamal's 'Viswaroopam' last year, but due to the sudden alterations in the foreign schedules of the film in the last-minute, she had to make way for newbie Pooja Kumar.
While an official confirmation regarding Sonakshi's participation is awaited, the project will go to floors in mid-2013. Technicians such as composer Mani Sharma and cinematographer Ratnavelu are already on board for the project.
