NTR and Samantha in Kandireega 2 Kandireega' starring Ram, Hansika and Aksha was a runaway hit at the box-office. Directed by Santosh Srinivas, the mass-masala flick hit the screens amidst bad blood between actor Ram and producer Bellamkonda Suresh over the former's remuneration.
Even after the film was declared a hit, a success meet of the film was held without the producer's visibility at the event, clearly showcasing the animosity between the two.
But in the process personal equations were kept aside and the actor even agreed to be a part of 'Kandireega 2' which was announced in April this year without much
hullabaloo.
The film which was to start in August got stalled for a while after Santosh complained to the Film Chamber saying that he was beaten up by Suresh.
However, backroom negotiations made sure that Srinivas still remained with the producer. While the sequel with Shruthi Haasan as Ram's pair was about to take off after initial hiccups, the frosty vibes between the producer and the actor escalated again and creative differences were cited for the film to never take off.
Realising that the film should go ahead after investing in it so much already, Bellamkonda, going by industry insiders, has immediately asked Santosh to narrate the same story to NTR, who we hear, has loved the script at the first-go and immediately conveyed his wish to be a part of the film.
A statement from the production house on Thursday indicated the same, but details of whether it is the same script that was okayed by Ram were not revealed.
'NTR got inspired by the subject and promised that he will be a part of the project from March 2013', Suresh was quoted as saying.
To make matters more interesting, it would be actress Samantha who'll be romancing Tarak. This would be 'Eega' actresses' second film with Suresh and third with NTR.
She is also a part of Harish Shankar's flick with the 'Yamadonga' star. While actor Ram is yet to comment on the whole issue, one is bound to reflect why Shruthi was shown the door?
