Kiss scene embarrassed Nani's wife Yeto Vellipoindi Manasu', which released on December 14, is faring well at ticket window. Celebrating its success, the unit briefed the press in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the do, director Gautham Vasudev Menon said, 'I was supposed to make this film in Tamil at first which later bent into a bilingual due to an advice from writer Kona Venkat.
He liked the script and suggested me to make this film in Telugu too. During the filming, I got a few doubts and it was difficult to get in touch with Venkat.
However, Nani helped me a lot in clearing my doubts and explained the meaning behind Kona's dialogues.
Though I worked with Jiiva for Tamil version, I learnt a lot from Nani. Samantha, as well, excelled in portraying emotions. Ilaiyaraja's music needs a special mention. In fact, it inspired me to make this movie.'
Samantha, who played the role of Nithya in the film, said, 'I'm privileged to be part of this project. I'm proud to be an actress.'
Nani, who played Varun, said, 'People of all ages are connecting to the film. I watched the film along with my wife and father-in-law and my niece who is too young to understand a movie.
During the lip lock scene, my wife looked embarrassed and tried to explain to my father-in-law that the kiss was not genuine.
Taken by surprise, he instantly reacted and said that he would not have missed it if he had an opportunity to kiss Samantha.'
He added, 'After returning home, I was talking to my wife. My niece had came to us and pulled me out and said that I should go along with Nithya (Samantha).
This clearly shows that people of all walks of life are enjoying the film.'
Refuting the reports that movie has slow narration, Nani clarified, 'Four of my friends have watched the film and three of them liked it and the other was not satisfied complaining about slow narration. But he turned out to be the one who watched the film three more times later. 'YVM' is like a slow poison.'
Producer C Kalyan, storywriter Reshma, dialogue writer Kona Venkat, lyricist Anantha Sreeram and a few distributors were present at the do.
