'Naayak' lands in title row Ram Charan-starrer 'Naayak' has landed in a title row. A section of Girijan Student Association has demanded the producer Danayya to immediately rename the film or face stringent action.
They said that the word Nayak is associated with self respect of their community. 'The word is a part of Constitutional rights promised for the Tribal communities. Hence, it cannot be used for commercial interests,' stated the students.
They also warned to stop the screenings of the film if the title remains unchanged. This is not the first time a mega hero faced the wrath of activists who demanded a change in the title of their films.
Two years ago Telangana activists also forced renaming Pawan Kalyan's film from 'Komaram Puli' to 'Puli'.
The activists took into objection the name `Komaram', a revolutionary leader from Telangana district of Adilabad, before warning of dire consequences if the producers failed to respect their sentiments. Later the word Komaram was dropped from the title.
