Producer Bellamkonda booked for assault HYDERABAD: The Banjara Hills police registered cases against Telugu film producer Bellamkonda Suresh who allegedly assaulted a financier and distributor over a money dispute.
According to police, they received a complaint from Radhakrishna that Suresh had assaulted him and threatened him with a revolver. Inspector P Muralikrishna said Suresh was producing a film, Jabardast, starring Siddartha and Samantha.
Radhakrishna helped Suresh find an overseas distributor, Seven Seas, and demanded Rs 25 lakh for his help.
'Radhakrishna's demand led to heated arguments with Suresh who assaulted Radhakrishna and also threatened him with a revolver,' police said.
Acting on a complaint lodged by Radhakrishna, the Banjara Hills police registered cases under Sections 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint) and 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC.
Jabardast is a romantic comedy film written and being directed by Nandini Reddy under the banner of Sri Sai Ganesh Productions. It is likely to be released in the last week of Feb.
