Rana as prince in Bahubali There's no stopping Rana Daggubati these days. In the spot-light for accepting a negative role alongside Prabhas for Rajamouli's 'Bahubali', the actor has now signed on the dotted-line to feature in Anushka-starrer period-drama 'Rudramadevi'
If Tollywood is known for its' top-heroes never indulging in supporting roles or for that matter in second fiddles, then the situation is changing thanks largely to the hunk on the block, Rana Daggubati.
The actor who has mesmerised everyone with his scintillating performance in last year's super hit 'Krishnam Vande Jagudgurum' is going the way which his predecessors failed to take.
The macho actor, who has already been roped in by SS Rajamouli for his magnum-opus 'Baahubali', where he will be playing the role which has negative shades alongside Prabhas, has nodded his head for India's first historical stereoscopic 3-D movie 'Rudramadevi'. He will be playing the second lead next to Anushka Shetty who is roped in to reprise the title role.
The 6-foot-tall actor is set to essay the role of Eastern Chalukya prince of Nidadavolu, Veerabhadra who married the Kakatiya Dynasty ruler Rudramadevi.
Aimed at presenting the efforts and tribulations of Kakatiya Empire and its emperor, director Gunasekhar who is wielding the megaphone for the project, has confirmed the happening. Presently in pre-production, the film will is expected to go to floors this month.
Ace-technicians like composer Ilayaraja, art director Thota Tharani, cinematographer Ajay Vincent, VFX supervisor Kamal Kannan and costume designer Neeta Lulla are already on board for the project which is being produced Guna Team Works.
