Anushka recalls Mirchi memories It's not often that you get to see actress Anushka Shetty interacting with the media, but Friday was a special case where the actress dressed in a casual attire, looking relaxed after participating in a training session for SS Rajamouli's 'Bahubali', spoke about her recent release 'Mirchi', her about to start two period-dramas besides her marriage.
So how did the Mangalore-beauty manage to physically lift more than six-foot-tall actor Prabhas in 'Mirchi'? 'Even Prabhas' mother asked the same question,' she laughs.
'It was director Siva's idea as he felt that it would be a change from the regular stuff. Prabhas made sure that he was rightly balanced which made my job easier. We took the same shot in three angles and I'm glad that everyone has appreciated the act.'
Talking about her vivacious outing, Vennela in the film, the actress shares, 'I liked the story and dialogues when Siva garu first narrated the script. It's not often that you get to play a chirpy character like Vennela.
It was designed in a manner that even if she speaks in a serious tone, the audience can see the fun side of it.'
So how does it feel when Prabhas on record said that given a chance, he'll work with her in every film of his? 'Even I say the same about him. He is not the actor who is just bothered only about his role.
He is concerned about how everyone is presented in the movie and does everything that he can in his purview. He is grounded and the hospitality that he and his family show is highly infectious.
I guess he inherited the hospitality factor from Krishnam Raju garu.'
Quiz about her sizzling chemistry with Prabhas, she is quick to respond, 'Secret to the chemistry lies with the director. If the script, dialogues and direction is not good, the best of the chemistry looks the worst. Moreover, other factors such as dialogue delivery, timing, and the camerawork add to the chemistry.'
With just a Telugu release in 2012, the actress, now has her plate full for the year with Rajamouli's 'Bahubali' and Gunasekhar's 'Rudramadevi' set to go on floors soon.
Speaking about Gunasekhar's film, she says, 'He gave me a detailed narration and I could fully visualise the picture right there. It's difficult to create the Kakatiya era, but we are working towards it.'
The actress is going through Guna's research material to get into the skin of the Kakatiya emperor. 'We don't have complete information about that era, but the director has mailed me whatever he had about Rudrama Devi.
Designer Neeta Lulla is going about her business of research on the costumes. Once things are in place, we will go for a trial shoot.'
On Rajamouli's project, she says it's an interesting script. 'If I speak more than that, he will kill me (laughs). At present, we are training sword combat for two to three hours daily. Peter Hein master has called upon experts from Vietnam and we are training under them.'
With 19 Telugu films so far and an association of eight years with the industry, not to mention her fluency in Telugu, the actress has no plans of walking down the aisle as of now.
'I feel marriage can never be planned. When time comes it just happens. It happened with my brother. He was pestered to get married for the past three years and all of a sudden, his marriage took place in a span of three months last year,' she informs, 'I'm still getting dreams about Rajamouli garu suggesting something on the training of 'Bahubali'. I haven't given a thought of marriage till now - may be after two years.'
Any plans of love marriage? 'Arranged or love marriage, I just want a happy married life. Marriage is something one should not be afraid to speak about even if he/she is a celebrity.
My parents understood what profession I'm in and they know my priorities. Hence they've never brought the topic to me. When I plan to get married I'll let everyone know about it,' reaffirms Anushka.
