When Rana fumes at Vikram Rana Daggubati's comments on a social networking site about Tamil actor Vikram caught people off guard.
A visibly upset Rana tweeted, 'Dear Mr Vikram I see you quote me and my directions in quite a few media interactions of yours recently. It is best if you focus on your'.. Career that isn't headed in the right direction with close to 10 odd disasters in your kitty I'm barely 2 1/2yrs old as an actor and'.. You are almost close to 25 yrs. Stay put on urs as I am on mine ;) not take anything away still a huge fan of few of your films ;) (sic).'
As soon as he vented out his frustration over what Vikram had supposedly said, fans of both the actors went berserk and took sides of their respective actors to indulge in war of words.
Rana's comments on Vikram come close to the heels of an interview that Vikram had give earlier this month to a Mumbai-based newspaper. When he was asked why South Indian actors haven't branched out of their film industries, Vikram said, 'You get paid a lot in the south. Here you have to start from scratch. For girls it's different as they do their PR well.'
So far so good, but he went on to add, 'Look at Rana Daggubati. He started in the Telugu industry and came to Bollywood but he hadn't made any headway in the south. Now he's not bothered about the Telugu industry.
To work in Bollywood, I have to leave everything and come here.' Vikram's comments on Rana's career caught both the actor and his fans by surprise.
The tension that prevailed the whole evening on Sunday came to an end when Rana revealed that Vikram, who spoke to him, was misquoted in the newspaper. 'Spoke to actor Vikram finally, says its a misquote from what he actually said. Glad the air is cleared apologies to him and his fans for my harsh reaction.(sic),' he posted on Twitter.
Rana will soon be seen in Ajith's upcoming Tamil film, apart from SS Rajamouli's Baahubali and Gunasekhar's Rudhrama Devi.
