Tarun working hard to make a comeback Starting with a bang in the form of 'Nuvve Kavali' more than a decade ago, actor Tarun has witnessed both success and failures from close quarters. With love stories like 'Priyamaina Neeku', 'Nuvveleka Nenu Lenu' and 'Nuvve Nuvve' striking the right chords with youth, the actor has developed a boy next-door image.
However, after Krishna Vamsi's 'Sasireka Parinayam' (2009) the actor's career has hit an all time low and it's been more than three years since the actor had a release and one is bound to ask if he is still in the industry.
But the actor in question is ready to win the hearts again. 'One good film and everything will be just like the way it was before,' says a confident Tarun, who is the face of Telugu Warriors, a cricket team of Celebrity Cricket League.
Explaining the gap, the actor says that though he took time after 'Sasireka Parinayam' he was busy finishing four films in the meanwhile.
'CACA' was supposed to release first, but due to issues with production partners, the film witnessed delays. Other films, 'Yuddham', 'Veta' and 'Dhaga' are ready except for some songs that need to be shot. They will hit the screens this year,' he assures.
The actor adds that he was keen on his films meeting the release deadline and that he had no intentions of making the audience wait. He reveals, ''Veta' took 120 days to be shot as it had lot of action sequences and 'Yuddham' too boasts of action. For 'Dhaga' I was out in Bangkok for 50 days.
Since 'CACA' got delayed consistently, others films too fell in line,' by adding, 'I always do one film at a time. After 'CACA', I signed 'Veta'. It too didn't make it on time.'
With no consistent releases, didn't he felt that he was losing out on his chocolate boy image and more importantly his female fan following? 'I don't think so.
If the film releases and fails to do fine, I might lose my image. But the fact remains I had no releases for the past three years and I understand that.
If my films don't get the appreciation of audience, maybe I will change my image and do different kind of roles. Let's see how these films fare so that I can take a call,' answers Tarun.
Giving a peep into his role and the film 'CACA', the actor terms it as a fulltoo love-story set in contemporary times.
'It's the story of a couple played by Vimala and me. Set in Bangkok, the best part of the film is reserved to the second half. It's presented in a manner that lovers and couples can relate too.
Even those who've broken up too can identify with our characters,' he maintains. 'I' m a happy-go lucky guy who loves weekends. I play a VJ who solves the problems of lovers, but when he encounters a similar situation in his life with Vimala, he is at crossroads.'
The actor is waiting to see how audiences embrace him with his delayed projects scheduled to hit the halls this year. 'I'm going to bash up baddies in 'Veta' (smiles) and it's the first time that I've attempted full-fledged action.
It's not that I'm going to take on 100 people at a time. The character was designed to suit my image. 'Yuddham' is a love story and I play a student leader and it has its dose of action. 'Dagaha' is a romantic thriller, a first of a kind for me with twists and suspense,' informs Tarun.
With more flops under his belt than hits, did he ever regret the decisions that he made choosing his films? 'No. I never did. Once you get into it, you are into it,' he gets back.
'Some films which you felt didn't come out as expected do great at the box-office and some films which come out very well, just sink. You don't regret it, but you obviously get hurt considering that you've expected it to farewell.
When I listen to a project and like the story I freeze on it. There is nothing to regret about it afterwards. I don't say why I said yes to a film? Why I didn't say no to a film? Once I take a decision I try to put in my best.'
