Actress Rajasulochana no more Rajasulochana, a beautiful actress gifted with exceptional dancing skills died here on Tuesday. She was 77. Rajasulochana was born on August 15, 1935 at Vijayawada. She acted in 274 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
An exponent of Bharata Natyam, Rajasulochana was introduced to the tinsel world through the Kannada film 'Guna Sagari' in 1953.
She acted alongside top heroes of all languages including NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, M G Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganeshan and Raj Kumar. Her acting in 'Pandava Vanavaasam', 'Shanti Nivasam', 'Raja Makutam', 'Jaya Bheri' and 'Tata Manavadu' won her acclaims.
Despite being a busy actress, Raja Sulochana also strove for spreading the flavor of Bharata Natyam the world over. She set up 'Pushpanjali'
a dance centre in Chennai and trained hundreds of dancers. She toured the entire world, performing dance concerts and ballets. She was married to director CS Rao, who is also no more. Chittajallu Srinivasa Rao, her husband was an exceptionally talented director.
Being the son of the legendary director C Pullayya, CS Rao became a director himself and was known as 'Cine Success' Rao, as all his films were smashing hits. The couple has two daughters. Family members said her last rites would be performed at Chennai on Wednesday.
