Bachchan to get NTR Award
The state government announced that three national and one state film award for the year 2011 would be presented at Nandi awards function, which will held on Ugadi (April 11).
The NTR National Film Award will be presented to Hindi superstar Ambitabh Bachchan, who will also receive `5 lakh cash and citation. BN Reddy National Film Award will be conferred to popular director Shyam Benegal, who will get `2 lakh cash and citation.
Nagireddy and Chakrapani National Film Award will be given to Padmalaya studio owner and film producer G Adiseshagiri Rao. He will get `2 lakh and citation. Raghupati Venkaiah State Film Award will be presented to veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana, who will get `2 lakh and a citation.
The award committee, headed by film producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja, KC Sekhar Babu and M Balayya, along with Film Development Corporation managing director Dana Kishore, called on chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the latter's camp office and informed him about the selection.
