Why Charmee hesitated to play a call girl?
The audio launch of Charmi-starrer 'Prema Oka Maikam' was a grand affair with the presence of Charmi and a host of top league directors like Sukumar, Sreenu Vaitla, Meher Ramesh, Madan, Chandra Siddharth, Suneel Kumar Reddy and actress Saranya of 'Premisthe' and 'Tenth Class' fame gracing the do. 'Baadshah' director Sreenu Vaitla unveiled the audio and gave the first CD to Sukumar.
Speaking at the do, Charmi said, 'I play a call girl in the film and I was initially reluctant to the role. After repeated requests by Chandu, I asked him to narrate the story.
Although I was totally floored with the narration, it took me a while to convince myself to essay a sex worker's role. I should thank my friend Fareeba who persuaded me to do this film by saying that an actress should be able to do unusual roles. Also, the movie was shot aesthetically.'
Noted journalist Pulagam Chinnarayana is turning dialogue writer with the film. Directed by Chandu, the film is jointly produced by Venkat Suresh and Surya Srikanth. Debutants SR Pasom and MGK Praveen have scored the music.
