Gunde Jaari...sets cash registers ringing Irrespective of A, B and C centres, Nithiin starrer `Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde' (GJG) is running to packed houses all across Andhra Pradesh. Attributing the success to the `whole team', first-time producer Nikitha Reddy, sister of Nithiin, says the film is a massive success in overseas too.
'The response in US has been amazing. I've been getting a lot of calls in appreciation of the film. For the first two days it collected in between Rs 60 to 70 lakhs across 21 screens in US. In other parts like Gulf and Kuwait, the reception has been overwhelming.'
Made at a budget of Rs 11.5 crore, Nikitha says, 'The film was in a table profit zone even before it made its way to the screens. The satellite rights of the film were sold at a price of Rs 3.25 crore days ago.'
With the film declared a super hit already, noted Tamil producers like Udhayanidhi Stalin, grandson of DMK supremo M Karunanidhi, and PVP Prasad besides other big names have approached Nikitha for the remake rights, but she has other plans.
'As of now we are looking forward to produce the Tamil version on Sresht Movies on a grand scale.'
In Chennai city alone, the film managed to mint Rs 10. 83 lakhs (nett) for the first three days, biggest opening for Nithiin till now over there.
Quiz her if her brother will play the lead role in Tamil too? 'Not my brother. We may consider other Tamil actor,' she replies. Even Bollywood producers and stars too were not far behind in making calls to Nikitha for bagging the Hindi remake rights.
Not ready to spell out the names, she informs, 'Many noted names are consulting us, but it's still early for me to comment on it.'
Re-introducing Vikram Kumar through `Ishq' and introducing director Vijay Kumar Konda through `GJG', Nikitha is game to encourage budding talent. 'We believe story as the hero.
We have many stories in place right now and once we come out of this euphoria we will think about our next Telugu venture.
We are more than open to introduce fresh talent if we like a particular subject,' she concludes.
