SC stays release of Charan's Zanjeer The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered a stay on the release of Apoorva Lakhia's 'Zanjeer' remake. Earlier, the Bombay High Court had ordered for clearance of release of 1973 film and gave green signal to its producer Amit Mehra.
The Supreme Court ordered the arbitrator to complete the arbitration proceedings expeditiously and positively in the next 6 weeks. The SC order came after the producer Amit's brothers Sumeet and Puneet approached the apex court against the HC order.
The rift between Mehra and his brothers made Zanjeer remake put in troubles as they terminated the remake contact stating that he failed to pay the dues.
The Zanjeer remake is featured by hero Ram Charan Teja, son of Union Minister Chiranjeevi and co-acted by Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Srihari, Prakash Raj and Mahie Gill. The film was scheduled to release in June.
