'Tadakha' boosts Chaitanya's spirits Although superstar Nagarjuna failed to deliver this summer with 'Greeku Veerudu', his son Naga Chaitanya has managed to win the hearts of the audience through 'Tadakha' which released last Friday.
With substantial support from Sunil who played his elder brother in the film, a remake of Tamil hit 'Vettai', the actor has ended his drought period of delivering back to back duds, 'Bezawada' and 'Dhada', in the second quarter of 2011.
Speaking at the film's success meet, he said, 'For a film to be triumphant at the box-office, the first Monday report is crucial and 'Tadakha's steady collections yesterday (Monday) prove that it is a winner. The film is a like a second break to me.'
He added, 'Thanks to director Dolly (Kishore) for making me to come out of the lover boy image. People said that my comic timing has improved, but the due credit goes to Srinivas Reddy who played my friend in the film.'
A beaming Sunil said that he along with director Dolly went to a theatre in Hyderabad to gauge people's reaction. 'We were surprised to see audience in splits for sequences which we never expected,' he said, adding, 'Before 'Shiva' happened for Nagarjuna, people expected him to be seen in soft roles, but after 'Shiva' it was a different story altogether. I expect Chaitanya's career to be on the similar lines.'
Producer Bellamkonda Suresh stated that it was Nagarjuna who insisted Sunil to be on board for the film. 'Though I expressed apprehensions that Sunil may dominate Chaitanya, Nagarjuna said that nobody can pull it off if it wasn't for Sunil. We are reaping the fruits of his suggestion,' he smiled.
Suresh's son Ganesh Babu and composer SS Thaman too were spotted at the event.
