Music director GV Prakash weds Saindhavi
Popular composer GV Prakash Kumar, nephew of Oscar winner AR Rahman, married his childhood friend and singer Saindhavi in Chennai on Thursday.
The wedding took place at 10:25 a.m. in the presence of family and close friends in true south Indian style at Major Ramanathan Chettiar Hall.
Some of the noted celebrities who graced the occasion included Suriya, Balu Mahendra, Bala, Mani Ratnam, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, K Bhagyaraj, Vijay, Shanthanu, Gayathri, Dhansika and P Vijay.
The bridegroom was dressed in white dhoti and shirt, the bride was draped in a Kanjeevaram silk sari.
The family of the newlyweds has hosted a grand reception in the evening. It was graced by a host of luminaries from the Tamil and Telugu film industries respectively. Prakash and Saindhavi were classmates in school and have been friends since.
They will soon head to Australia for their honeymoon. Prakash has scored music for Telugu films such as `Ullasangha Utsahamga', `Darling' and `Ongole Githa' among others while Saind havi is popular singer in TN and AP. Prakash has also composed music for Hindi films `Joker', `Gangs of Wasseypur' and `Ugly'.
