Samntha has stage fear I have stage fright and I won't be performing on stage at the 60th Idea Filmfare Awards South 2013,' said Samantha about the awards function which will take place at Hitex in Hyderabad on July 20. 'These awards are every actor's dream and they give a gentle nudge to us to perform better,' she said.
The actress recalled how thrilled she was when she won the `Best Female Debut' two years ago. Garnishing her speech with a generous dose of Telugu words, Samantha said she has been nominated this year too.
'Working in all the south Indian films is similar as the ethos are similar and the framework is similar. I am a South Indian myself and I have no issues working in Tamil or Telugu movies,' she said.
Sam, as she is known in the film industry, went on to say that she has received immense appreciation and acclaim for roles that she had risked for. 'Not all movies are box-office hits and not all roles earn you another blockbuster, but as an artiste it is important to go that extra mile, even if it feels like you are taking a risk and are going off the beaten track.'
So is her life as glitzy and glamorous as the film magazines make it out to be? 'No, it is a lot of hard work,' she said.
Jitesh Pillai, editor of Filmfare, said it was nice that the 60th year of the awards have coincided with the 100 years of Indian cinema. There will be about 50 awards including 40 under regular category and a few such as Lifetime Achievement Award, Special Jury award etc.
