Pawan, Charan films vie for screens That the Mega heroes ' Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun- never had a clash is going to change this monsoon, as two of the anticipated mega flicks, 'Yevadu' and 'Attarintiki Dharedhi' (title confirmed by the producer), starring Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan respectively, are going to the hit the screens in a space of a week ' a first of its kind in Telugu film industry. This comes in wake of 'Yevadu' producer Dil Raju hinting that his film's arrival on July 25 depends upon the pace at which the post-production takes place.
However, it is unlikely that 'Yevadu' will make it on the intended date, thereby giving clear cut picture that battle lines are drawn between Babai and Abbai. During his heydays, Megastar Chiranjeevi ensured that he never competed with his superstar brother Pawan Kalyan and the latter too, ever since Charan made his foray into filmdom, took a conscious decision of not releasing his films coinciding with his nephew's films. However, Babai, this time around, seems to be in no mood to postpone his flick, as huge money besides high expectations, is riding on it.
One look at their films, the clash was inevitable, as Dil Raju for a major part of 'Yevadu's progress kept the fans guessing over its release. It was a month ago that the producer ace, indeed, stated that he had plans to release 'Yevadu' during the fourth week of July.
But much before that, BVSN Prasad who is producing 'Attarintiki Dharedhi' said that he will be releasing his film on August 7 worldwide. With the film having done enormous business even before its audio release and with many distributors having allocated the space for its humongous release, it is unlikely that the film will be pushed forward.
The same was reiterated by his son Bapineedu when contacted. 'Yes, we have no plans of delaying the film. It will hit the marquee as scheduled,' stated Bapineedu who is also the co-producer of Pawan-starrer.
Producer Raju, on the other hand, takes the blame. 'Our film has got delayed time and again and we were left with no other options than to release it in the last phase of July. We had no intentions to compete with Pawan Kalyan. Situations dictated the terms. We've shot the film for more than 18 months and the director is hell bent on not putting a foot wrong coming to the quality of the film. However, we are working day and out to release the film on July 25,' he says.
Knowing Pawan's intentions of bringing his flick this August, Raju, who understands the pros and cons of the film business very well, initially was tempted to hold his film till mid-August. 'We made plans to release it on August 22 but to our bad luck, Charan's other film, 'Zanjeer', has booked its berth for Sept 6 globally. Either way it will be a setback for Charan and to our production house if we release 'Yevadu' at that time. So July was locked as final release date,' Raju laments.
He was quick to respond when asked whether he will approach producer BVSN Prasad for a change in his films release date. 'We will request him. If there's a possibility, I hope he will ponder about it,' he reveals. It will be a nail-biting clash if indeed Charan's flick gets delayed and arrives on July 31. Wonder if the suave star will draw the first blood and give a stiff competition to the biggest star of T-town right now?
