Rana flexes muscle with period films Springing back from the injuries sustained during shooting for Bahubali, Rana Daggubati is all charged up dividing his time between the Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual Bahubali and the Tamil-Telugu bilingual Rudhramadevi.
Incidentally the actor is cast opposite leading lady Anushka Shetty in both the films. This is where the similarities end, says the actor.
'Bahubali is a fictional story whereas Rudhramadevi is more of a historical drama,' says Rana on the difference between the two. While his character in Bahubali is all grey, Rana steps into the shoes of Chalukya Veerabhadrudu, husband of the brave queen Rudhramadevi of Warangal in director Gunasekhar's historical drama.
Apart from the accident while practising horse-riding, the shoot for Bahubali directed by SS Rajamouli, was delayed to give the lead cast ' which includes Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Adil Selva -- time to train for their part in the film.
Working with the Eega director for the first time, the actor is all praise for Rajamouli's expertise. 'He is fun to work with and works hard. He pushes you to do your best.' Rana recently wrapped one schedule for Bahubali and will start shooting for the next soon.
After breaking into Bollywood with Dum Maro Dum, the actor was seen only in a cameo in Yeh Jawani hai Deewani and a special appearance as a cop in Ajith Vishnuvardhan's Tamil film.
Rana says that these offers come by way of friends in the industry who would like to feature him. 'I did the cameo in Yeh Jawani hai Deewani as Ranbir is a good friend,' adds Rana.
He is also set to make his Kollywood debut with director Selvaraghavan in his next movie which will be bilingual.
