Mirchi music awards on July 26
Keeping up with tradition of honouring musical talents, Radio Mirchi is gearing up to conduct its fourth edition of Mirchi music awards. The ceremony honouring the outstanding music talent of the South's premium film industries, will take place at Chennai on July 26.
The category awards are chosen by panel of jury members consisting of eminent people from the industry. To make the jury process robust, Mirchi had come up with two sets of juries- the screening jury for screening the short listing of the entries in each of the 14 categories and then the Grand jury- with whom rests the task of finalising the winners for each award. Life time achievement award to the individual who excelled in the field of music will also be presented at the awards night.
At the press brief in Hyderabad, ace producer D Suresh Babu who is heading the Telugu jury said, 'Without any prejudice a jury was formed and the voting process has been taken to honour the right individual.' Grand Jury member Ramana Gogula said that the competition for the year 2012 has been tough.
'Over 654 songs, 122 films and over 100 music directors were under the scanner for the awards in the categories of song of the year, album of the year, composer of the year, male voice of the year, female voice of the year etc.'
Another member RP Patnaik appreciated the efforts of Mirchi honouring musical talents. Other Grand jury members, Tanikella Bharani, Chandrabose, Mohan Krishna Indraganti, and Kausalya too were spotted at the meet.
