Pawan - Sampath combination again While all eyes are set on `Attarintiki Dharedhi' (AD) after its teaser which released on Sunday evening took the virtual world by a storm, the sequel to Pawan Kalyan-starrer `Gabbar Singh' is heading in the right direction. It will go on floors once Pawan breaks free from `AD'.
'He is yet to hear the final script. I was keen not to disturb him for the last three weeks as he is working day in and out to complete `AD'. After the release, we will sit together and work out on how to take the project forward.
The female lead alongside him too will be fi nalised once `AD' releases. We may start work in the last week of September,' says the actor's best friend Sharath Marar who will produce the film on `North Star Entertainments'. Pawan will pres ent the film on `Pawan Kalyan Creative Works'. Sharath also spoke about the release date.
'If we go on sets as planned, we will bring the film in January. If not, the D-day will be in February. It will be shot predomi nantly in Hyderabad, with some portions in other parts of the country. We are aiming to wrap up the film in three schedules,' he shares.
Sharath also re-collects how his association with the star commenced. 'I've worked with Chiranjeevi garu closely for his brand endorsements. I coordinated them through Allu Aravind garu who later put me a proposal to work for his production `Johnny'. I met Pawan in that context and we worked closely for the film.
I discharged my duties as the executive producer of the film and it was during the filming we bonded well and there was no looking back after it', he says and continues, 'Even though I went on to work as the CEO of a Regional General Entertainment Channel for five years, we were in touch and the friendship only grew stronger.
I feel fortunate to have such an association with him. I will try to seek a longer and fruitful journey for both of us.'
On the other hand, Sampath Nandi who will helm the flick dismissed the film being a sequel to `Gabbar Singh'. 'It is neither a sequel to `Gabbar Singh' nor a remake of `Dabangg 2'.
It is an independent story as I'm just carrying `Gabbar Singh' character for ward. It will be energetic and besides having punchy dialogues, it will have all the elements that Pawans' fans would desire of him.
The script work is over but for some more polishing,' he informs.
Sampath has also roped in a strong technical team. 'Devi Sri Prasad will compose the music while Jayanan Vincent will handle the cinematography. Anand Sai will head the art depart ment,' he concludes.
