Number 1 set for Sankranti race
Mahesh Babu's upcoming film 1 is expected to hit the screens during Sankranthi, 2013. In the past, films like Businessman, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Okkadu had released during Sankranthi time and all three of them went on to become blockbusters.
Initially, the makers of 1 were planning to release the film before the end of the year; however, the film's shooting is expected to be wrapped up only towards the end of the year. Moreover, Mahesh Babu has allotted dates for Sreenu Vaitla's upcoming film Aagadu from August onwards.
Keeping all these constraints in mind, buzz is that the producers have decided to get the film ready for release by mid January, 2014. Sukumar is directing the film and Kriti Sanon is playing the lead role opposite Mahesh Babu.
Currently, the film is being shot in London and the team is expected to return to Hyderabad towards the end of the month. Earlier this month, the film was shot in Belfast and scores of Mahesh Babu's fans thronged to the sets to catch a glimpse of the actor.
Mahesh Babu's son, Gautham is going to make a cameo as the younger version of Mahesh Babu in this psychological drama. The film has a caption Neenokkadiney and rumours are abuzz that Mahesh Babu will be playing the role of a rockstar who goes all the way to London to find the villain.
Kris Gethin, who trained Mahesh Babu to achieve a toned look for the film, told that the actor has successfully completed his fitness programme Dramatic Transformation Principle and there is a strong buzz that Mahesh Babu will show off his six pack during one of the fight sequences in the film.
Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music and Ratnavelu is the cinematographer. The film is being produced under the 14 Reels Entertainment Pvt Ltd banner.
