'Prathighatana', a political satire Producer-director Tamma Reddy Bharadwaj who last directed the critically acclaimed 'Pothe Poni' six years ago, has shifted focus to calling the shots again. His new film with Charmee in the lead, 'Prathighatana', has gone on to sets.
Speaking about the film in Hyderabad, Tamma Reddy Bharadwaj said that the numerous problems that society is going through these days, prompted him to wear the director's hat again.
'We've voted leaders to power but instead of doing service to the society, they are fighting among themselves. More than 700 people's representatives in the country have cases against them.
I'm saddened to read such news on a regular basis and my film focuses on such current happenings,' he said. He added that his film revolves around the brutal rape case which took place in Orissa four years ago. 'She is still in coma and 'Prathighatana' subject more or less drew heavy inspiration from it.'
Charmee said that she is playing the role of a journalist Nischala. 'She is tomboyish and at the same time does whatever she likes,' she said. Produced by Tamma Reddy himself, the film will be completed in a single schedule. While Lakshmi Bhoopal has written the film, S Gopal Reddy is handling the cinematography.
