Gabbar Singh sweeps music awards Pawan Kalyan-starrer `Gabbar Singh' swept away five major music trophies at the Mirchi Music Awards which took place at Chennai. Besides winning best album of the year (viewer's choice and listener's choice), `Gabbar Singh' also gave its musician Devi Sri Prasad, the best composer award.
While listener's choice best song award went to `Kevv keka' from the same film, `Akaasam ammayithe' was voted as the jury's choice best song of the year.
Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam too collected two awards. Apart from winning the best singer for his song, `Sai ante thalli', in `Shirdi Sai', he was also awarded Sangeetha Samrat.
The gala event also witnessed Jamuna Rani being presented the lifetime achievement award. Mozart of Madras who flew down to attend the ceremony bagged the coveted Global Music Icon award. Suresh Babu, Tanikella Bharani, Shriya, Rana, Kriti Karbhanda and Nani were present at the ceremony.
