SreeHari to contest from Kukatpally Actor Sree Hari says that his entry into politics is confirmed this time around. 'Yes, I will contest on behalf of Congress from Kukatpally constituency of Hyderabad,' he clears the air.
While he refrained to divulge more details about his political entry, the actor is happy on the acting front. He has pinned high hopes on 'Thoofan' where he plays a significant role alongside Ram Charan.
'Sher Khan will give me more mileage. Director Apoorva Lakhia has ensured that I never faltered coming to Hindi diction. It has been a satisfying experience as I've developed a nice circle in Mumbai,' he informs.
The actor says that if it wasn't for 'Thoofan's role, he would have stopped donning greasepaint for a while. 'I was looking for characters that are on par with the Sher Khan of 'Magadheera,' but nothing was coming through. Just when I thought of hanging my boots, 'Thoofan' and 'Rambo Rajkumar' came my way. If you have little spark inside you, B-town will encourage you.'
Speaking about director Prabhu Deva's 'Rambo Rajkumar', where he rubs shoulders with Shahid Kapoor, he shares, 'It's a love story. I play a mafia-based main antagonist.' When asked how he sees the future of Telugu film industry since Telangana is now more or less a reality, the Telangana-born actor rebuts, 'I will speak after the separation.'
So did he face any hurdles while struggling to enter the film world since he was from Telangana and that the lion's share of Tollywood's populace hails from Andhra?
He replies, 'I've always believed in my work and if you are good at it, you will conquer it, regardless of the surroundings. My aim was always to succeed as an actor and I've focussed on it.'
Known for his dialogue-delivery, he reminisced about Dasari Narayana Rao, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Mohan Babu, K Raghavendra Rao and Kodanda Ramireddy who have always encouraged him.
'Cameraman VSR Swamy, during my early career, advised me to work in small films, too. His funda was that they are around 200-250 people who work for a film and they constantly move to other sets.
If they liked my performance, they may tell other production staff who in turn might be close to the filmmakers and fetch me offers. I followed his advice,' he recollects.
While he is looking forward to his roles in films like 'Rough', 'Jagadguru Adi Shankara' and 'Weekend Love', he says that he will be doing a lead role again soon. 'The film is titled 'Balashali'. It is expected to go on floors soon,' the actor concludes on a high note.
