Actress Sirisha alleges sexual abuse Telugu actress, who had been missing for almost three months appeared before the Banjara Hills police here and attributed her absence to alleged sexual harassment by her stepfather.
'It has also come to light that the actress is a minor,' police said. Incidentally, the missing person complaint was filed by N Prasad Rao, whom the actress, on Tuesday accused of 'sexual harassment', last Saturday claiming that she went missing on May 27.
Sirisha was produced before a juvenile court, where she was sent to a rescue home by the judge later.
The actress had suddenly disappeared from her house on May 27, after which she could not be located. However she used to stay in touch through phone. After she stopped contacting her mother, Prasad Rao lodged a missing complaint at the Banjara Hills police station.
Previously,in an interview with a TV channel, Sirisha had claimed that her step-father had made sexual advances towards her whenever her mother was away, and that she could not lodge a complaint with the police, since her mother is financially dependent on her stepfather.
On May 27 she left her house with her boyfriend and she stopped contacting her family from the last 10 days. The Banjara Hills police stated that a case can be registered only after verifying all the statements made by the actress.
