T students threaten to stall NTR's films The Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) and the Telangana Students JAC (TSJAC) have threatened to stall screening of the upcoming movie of NTR Jr at cinemas in the region in protest against the resignation of his father, Nandamuri Harikrishna, from the Rajya Sabha in support of state's integration.
NTR Jr's flick, 'Ramaiyya Vastavayya', is slated for release next month. The threat comes just a day after the two student groups had warned the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGO) against holding a meeting in the city.
'We are not going to let any movie theatre in the entire 10 districts of Telangana to screen the new movie of NTR Jr. His father has made his stand clear, we will also make ours also visible in case the movie is screened anywhere,' said M Krishank, OUJAC's spokesman.
When contacted, director N Shankar, president of Telangana Film Chambers (TFCA) Association, chose not to comment and said that his association would react later.
However sources in TSJAC said that it was the TFCA which had, in fact, instigated the students to rake up the issue, and rise against the Samaikyandhra movement which has been rocking the Andhra and Rayalaseema regions for the last two weeks.
