HRC asks cops to book case against Ram Charan State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) directed Banjara Hills police to book a case against Telugu hero Ram Charan Tej and his body guards for allegedly bashing up two techies on May 6.
The commission, in its directions, instructed the police to register a case under Section 357 (abetment of crime), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 160 (committing affray), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120(8) and sec 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code.
It may be recalled that the two software engineers' Kalyan and Phanish'were assaulted by the actor's security guards following a scuffle when their car blocked the actor's car at a traffic junction near GVK Mall.
City Police Commissioner Anurag Sarma on June 25 submitted an explanation determining that the two techies were assaulted by body guards of actor Ram Charan Teja on May 5. The police told the SHRC that they could not register case against the actor as the victims had not lodged complaint.
Earlier, the SHRC directed the commissioner to submit an explanation on the brawl following a petition filed by one Saleem, a lawyer, seeking action against the film star for prompting the attack on the two employees in broad day light at the centre of the city.
