Nitya doing offbeat film
Nitya Menon who has a policy of doing one film at a time has given the green signal for a film to be directed by yesteryear heroine, Sri Priya.
The film, christened Malini 22 is a remake of the Kannada hit 22 Female Kottayam and would be made in both Tamil and Telugu. The shooting of the Telugu version is currently on in Hyderabad.
Malini 22 is the story of a nurse who takes revenge on her rapists. It is quite interesting to see Nitya who has starred in commercial entertainers such as Ishq and Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde opting for this subject.
Apparently this is a character that has a tremendous scope for performance and the Nitya believes that this role would bring out the actress in her.
Director, Sri Priya who has appeared in films, Vayasu Pilichindi and Aame Katha in the 1970s was insistent that Nitya play the role as she felt that another actress would not able to do justice to it. Nitya Menon surely seems to be one actress who follows her heart rather than her mind.
