Another heroine turns mother
All leading actresses settle down at some point in their lives and turn to domestic life although they still appear in cameos in various films, usually as mother of the heroine or hero.
Meena is the latest actress to join the bandwagon. She has agreed to play the role of mother to Malayalam superstar Mamooty, a fact which has come as a huge surprise to her fans considering that she is yet to turn 40, whereas Mamooty has recently crossed 60.
An adverse response to this portrayal on screen might affect any serious comeback plans of Meena.Meena who ruled the roost in the south film industry acting opposite every big star got married to a software engineer from Bangalore and quit playing lead roles.
Though she took to television and devotional films, she was always doing roles in keeping with the dignity of her stature. Her last appearance was in the recently released Jagadhguru Adisankara.
Hence, given her age, it was a surprising decision. Earlier, hottie Nagma was seen playing mother-in-law to NTR Jr in Naa Alludu a long time back. Even actress Madhubala, the heroine of Roja and Gentleman was recently seen in the Telugu film Antaka Mundu Aa Taravata in the role of mother to the heroine.
