Panchami releasing in 3rd week
Panchami, an experimental film by debutant Sujatha Bourya is all set to release in the third week of this month. The film is currently in its post-production phase.
Sujatha Bourya has earlier worked as an assistant to Krishna Vamsi for the Prabhas-starrer Chakram. Speaking about her film, Sujatha said that Panchami is the story of a female photographer who in her quest for professional excellence ventures into a forest and what happens next forms the crux of the story.
The decision to cast Archana was taken keeping in mind that the makers wanted an actress without a star image for the role. The film revolves around only one character, that of the heroine, which is quite a daring attempt.
When quizzed on this aspect and the fact that it makes the screenplay monotonous, the director responded saying that the film has a fair amount of graphics work and that she is banking on the graphics portion to offset any other perceived shortcomings in the film.
She thanked the producer for not compromising on the quality of the film even though the film went slightly over budget. Dasari Gangadhar has worked as the writer for Panchami which is produced by D Srikanth under the banner, Idea Movie Creations.
