Teasers say it all Usually we see actors doing their best to fit in to their respective characters. A few of them concentrate on their make up while some of them work on their physical aspects to look more realistic or natural. Call it a coincidence or intentional, Tollywood film-makers are now trying to project the actors' real life persona on screen.
The trend started with Gabbar Singh. Directed by Harish Shankar, the Pawan Kalyan-starrer has raked in the moolah and created new records at the box-office.
It can be safely said that both Pawan Kalyan's fans and other audience started looking forward to the film after watching the film's teaser. The movie went on to become a blockbuster and put an end to the flops for Pawan Kalyan.
The dialogue in the film's teaser Naaku koncham tikkundhi.. .kani daniko lekkundhi... showcases the real life persona of Pawan Kalyan. In real life, he is known to follow his own set of rules and known to lead his life on his terms.
The trend was continued in Mirchi. Director Koratala Shiva played up the potential of Prabhas. The teaser of the film has a dialogue that goes as ' 'Cutout chusi konni konni nammeyyali dude.'
When decoded, it means that Prabhas has a hulk-like personality which is capable of making the audience believe that he can pull off anything with ease. Mirchi registered mind-boggling success at the ticket window and Prabhas lived up to his image as Jai in the film.
The next in the line is NTR Jr's Ramayya Vastavayya. The film directed by Harish Shankar has a dialogue in the teaser -- 'Buddodu' buddodu' ante guddaloodadeesi kodatha.' Goes without saying, it received humongous response from NTR's fans.
It is a known fact that people from within and outside the industry refer to NTR Jr as buddodu. Apparently, NTR Jr was not happy being called buddodu and the dialogue is like NTR's response to those who called him by that nickname. The film is due for release on September 27 and the expectations are already high.
Among the Tollywood stars, Nagarjuna is one hero who does not shy away from experimenting and being innovative. The actor has showed a lot of variation in his roles over the years and this has earned him the reputation of introducing a new trend with each of his films.
Also, he perfectly fits into each character he plays on screen. So, in his forthcoming film Bhai, there is a dialogue -- 'Ee field lo kothaga edhaina try cheyyalantey' adhi neney raa'.'
According to Veerabhadram Chowdary, his director for the film, it is a true reflection of Nag's image and working style. 'If you look at the films of Nagarjuna, it is obvious that he has never shied away from experimenting or trying something new.
Right from Shiva to Hello Brother to Annamayya to Shirdi Sai, he has played versatile characters with conviction. He has been a trend-setter of sorts for other heroes and I can confidently say that not many can pull off what Nagarjuna has done in his career.'
